Northern Ontario Fly-In Fishing Camp

Sydney Lake Lodge is a Fly-In Fishing Lodge north of Minaki, southwest of Red Lake Ontario Canada. We offer fly-in fishing trips for walleye, northern pike and lake trout.

The fishing camp is located on the South East corner of Woodland Caribou Park and on the northern fringe on Ontario's Trophy Waters.

I am hoping this blog will be a good way to talk about Sydney Lake and my life in Red Lake. Please feel free to post and to contact me with any questions.

Kayaks P Winter

Phil and his freinds have made this trip
since 1991 and survived the July 18th blowdown with only one kayak damaged. All Kenny Lake wanted was a dish of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.

OK...I need to weigh in on the "Phil and friends who weathered the great'blow me down'" of '91. FOR THE RECORD: Phil & his "fair weathered"friends were sipping sarsaparillas somewhere, no doubt in the south ofFrance, during the great "blow me down" of '91. Rod M., Kenny L., Dan E.,and John P. were the hardy boys who survived that exciting and momentouscatastrophic event. It should be noted that never again did Dan E. or JohnP. return to the shores of Sydney Lake. That event saw the destruction ofthe carefully crafted (as by Rod M. & Scott S.) and beautiful doubleyak,"Marge-the-Barge" whom Kenny L. and Dan E. (with Rod's expertsupervision) managed to piece back together for the loony-tunes escape fromthe carnage. John P.'s self made (and evidently not so carefully crafted)"cigarette" yak barely saw him out though he nearly drowned in his owncockpit. Rod's "mighty fine 'Sea Hawk'" weathered the event with nary ascratch and has since returned to the lake of lakes bearing the butts ofsome 8-10 others over the past 17 years.
Just the facts..
