Northern Ontario Fly-In Fishing Camp

Sydney Lake Lodge is a Fly-In Fishing Lodge north of Minaki, southwest of Red Lake Ontario Canada. We offer fly-in fishing trips for walleye, northern pike and lake trout.

The fishing camp is located on the South East corner of Woodland Caribou Park and on the northern fringe on Ontario's Trophy Waters.

I am hoping this blog will be a good way to talk about Sydney Lake and my life in Red Lake. Please feel free to post and to contact me with any questions.

Beavers

From the Left

The center of the beaver dam blew out from the heavy rain fall of over 4 inches which created more pressure that the center of the dam could stand. Note the base of the dam was located on bare bed rock.

The pond covered an area aproximately 400 acers, the water level droped over 7ft in a matter of hours.

The road washed out 90% and left a narrow sholder 5 ft wide in front of the truck, marked by the 20" x 30' poplar tree section. The wash out was 6' deep and 30' wide at the widest part, exposing the 4' culvert. Note the four whole trees and root bundles that were washed down from above the road.
